Scouts and skiing--Keystone spring break March 2006. Just two memories from long ago that come up for me. They make me realize how long Clint, Laura, and Tommy have been in my life--almost 20 years. I'm so grateful to have had the time together back then as well as the memories now, knowing that both will stay with me always.

My younger years were a trying time for me, as they tend to be for many. Whenever I got to spend time at the Hensleys' house though, I only found a welcoming and loving environment. Clint always came across as a gentle soul to me, and I really value that influence at that particular time of my life.
His life may have ended, but the fire that once resided in his soul has sparked new embers in those he met.

Many of my fondest memories growing up involved Clint and the Hensley family. From family ski trips, model and real planes to laughs around a table, Clint and his family always made me feel so welcome and a part of their amazing and caring family. I have Clint to thank for many things but the one that stands out to me most right now is him being the first person to introduce me to the world of aviation. I know that I will always have a co-pilot up there with me looking out for me, cheering me on and in all likelihood telling me to go faster. I am forever grateful for the valuable lessons, knowledge and support that Clint was so willing to pass on to me throughout my life.

Patrick and Alex, I am so moved by reading your words--your experiences growing up with Clint in your lives--and knowing that where there may have been gaps elsewhere in your lives at that time, the Hensley family was there to fill them with abundance. I will be forever grateful for Clint's influence on you both and many others and am so comforted to know his legacy will always live on in you. Pass it on.

I remember so many great times with Clint at the Poppyseed and Trippin Troll, at concerts, enjoying holidays, and other celebrations. Clint was always funny, smart, and just a very good guy to be around. On the last night my husband and I visited him, he was acting his truest self; laughing, talking, reminiscing about airplanes and fun times. He was holding onto a mini troll doll and instructed Tommy to run his wheelchair down the hallway.. "go faster."

On his last Wednesday night, he got back his Voice, one last miraculous moment, enough to give a speech to an adoring group of family and friends, that had gathered in the waiting area. We hung on every word... and when he was done, he had reminded the Pilots there, on how to land in a crosswind, recommend a family friend for a job, reminisced about our Shops in Manitou, and Coached on the importance of always being prepared. He spoke of Love & Friendship, and Truth & Promises. Then he instructed Tom to spin the wheelchair around, and race down the hall, “Go Faster, Son, Faster”. I met him 34 years ago, at Calero Reservoir in San Jose. My Jet Ski had fouled a spark plug, and he came to my rescue with a gold tip replacement set. It was love at first sight... and we kept our 2nd promise, to each other, “Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.”.

2/10/23 Clint was Cremated today at Noon... Tom and I poured a sip of Bonded Whiskey for ourselves, read from Psalms 90 together, and raised our glasses to Clint;
“To Love & Friendship, a wonderful Husband and a great Dad, and to going Faster", We are tormented and heartbroken, yet we know... we all must return to dust and fly away.

We had fun out on the lake that day, cruising in the jet boat. The water was like a mirror and we were able to kick it up. You had downloaded an app to track our speed and we both went crazy when we broke 60mph. We both opened it up a couple times then decided to pack it up before we got hurt; as the other boaters had made it to the lake, causing the mirror to vanish. Thanks for waking me up early with those pots and pans, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
