Obituary of Lawrence S. Costello

Lawrence "Larry" S. Costello, 83, passed away on January 12, 2023 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Larry was born on August 18, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Ralph and Dorothy (Lawrence) Costello. He was the oldest of two children and grew up in northern California. Larry met his wife, Charlene, while attending University of California Berkeley. After earning a master's degree in civil engineering and hydraulics, Larry served as an officer in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, spending two years as a post engineer at Two Rock Ranch Station in Petaluma, California. Larry and Charlene had two children, Steve and Amy. After a few years working in the engineering field, the family moved to the East Coast where Larry earned an MBA and developed a successful consulting practice as an IT systems analyst. Larry and Charlene later moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they have remained since. Larry frequently found clever ways to inject humor into conversations, bringing joy and laughter to those around him, and had a gift for encouraging others. He loved sharing his investing knowledge with younger generations, spending time with his family- especially his grandchildren, ice cream, fishing, hunting, and the Lord. Larry is survived by his wife, Charlene; his daughter, Amy; daughter-in-law, Kim; son-in-law, Martin; sister, Shawndeya; four grandchildren; and many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy Costello; and his son, Steve.
