Geoff was my online English teacher. I learnt English with Geoff from 2019 – 2021.
He was a good teacher and patient & cared about his students. Always pray for his students.
I was inspired by his passion for sharing knowledge, his love for his family and his concern for others.
You will be missed & always remembered, Geoff.

Bonnie,
Geoff was such a sweet and kind-hearted person! We really enjoyed our PPOTHG camping, hiking, biking, and socials with you and Geoff. On our very first PPOTHG camping trip in Trinidad is where we met you. I still remember our bike trip on dirt roads in the area with beautiful scenery and old mining cabins. We really enjoyed the campouts and talking around the fire. Geoff had such an amazing and interesting life, and I always looked forward to talking with him. My heart hurts with his passing and for you and your family.

We have known Geoff for over 30 years. During that time Geoff has always had a heart to serve God and others.
We first remember him as Boy Scout leader. Later we served with him in the local Kiwanis club in Jamul, CA where Geoff was president, treasurer, and chief pancake mixer. He was always ready to lend a hand to serve the youth and other deserving groups in Jamul.
Geoff made the world a better place.We will miss him.

Geoff Copland was Flight Coordinator at Aiyura in May 1975 when I arrived in PNG, so he was one of the first people I met. I came to teach in the Ukarumpa High School, and a crowd of us singles would go hiking or motor-bike-riding in the hills on Saturdays. The next year he met Bonnie Vic, romance blossomed and it wasn't long before she became Bonnie Copland. Geoff and Bonnie became Regional Centre Managers, so we didn't see them as much, but they were always good friends to any of us shopping or holidaying in Lae.
May all your memories be happy ones, and we look forward to sharing them together with so many special PNG colleagues in glory.

Though we only met briefly, we can tell Geoff has had and will continue to have a profound impact on many people.
The photo was taken on a hike at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs in April 2022, along with fellow hikers from the Pikes Peak Over The Hill Gang.
Although Geoff has now truly gone "Over The Hill", we know he is in a better place, no matter how magnificent his time on earth. We offer our sincere condolences to Bonnie who without doubt added immensely to such a magnificent time.

Geoff has been a very good friend to Nelly and me since the day we met him in person. He always wanted to help SREBI (Shan Region Evangel Bible Institute, Myanmar) and us. We will never forget him. I thank Jesus Christ our Lord for the hope that we will meet our loved ones and friends again.
Please let Bonnie and the rest of Geoff's family members know that they have our sympathy. Our prayers are with them. Good memories of Geoff are always on my mind. We will miss Geoff till we meet him again in heaven.

To Bonnie and family, my first memories of Geoff are back in June 1970 at around 11:30pm, I had only arrived at Bushy Park that day and Geoff poked his nose around the bedroom door to say hello. We got on well and shared some great times. Geoff and Bonnie lived in Lae, Papua New Guinea, for several years. During those years Geoff assisted many local people who lived nearby in villages, working with ex-pats doing Bible translation in their language. A frequent visitor to the home was Mose, from the Buang language. Here is what he sent to an Australian Bible translator he worked with:
Oo, Bruce, gener Geoff be diik lom sa kwag paya in yi nebe sarig ti baluu magem og alu ngo nesepa he. Log yom negin beggang vatevek og seyam nahep ving losho vene lo nalu lo genayah beggangne. Log yi sen tahu sa lok kaar mesa hako draiv yi lesen. Wopo, gepin, sa kwag paya in yi o. Mak gwevong Email ti na vu Bonnie nabe gevong email yam mesa hale mekwag paya in yi.
Which fairly freely translated says:
Oo, Bruce, you said that Geoff had died and I am very sad because he was like one of my brothers and we two were young men so that we went around together. And he came back and took care of the guest house and then I came and slept with him and his wife and children and went back to the village. And this one, he taught me about cars and I got my driver’s license (or it could be driving lessons). Alas, may it not happen, I am so sad with respect to him O. Would you send an email to Bonnie saying that you sent an email and I saw it and I am sad with respect to him.
When he says he came and slept with you all and went back to the village, the grammar indicates that he did it a number of times

When I couldn't get anyone from our church to come to my house and serve communion to my mother, Geoff stepped in and brought the communion table to her. I will never forget his kindness and gentleness as he served her.
