Obituary of Elmer Richard Ehrlich

Elmer Richard "Dick" EhrlichJune 14, 1932-April 17, 2010Dick passed away with his family at his side on April 17, 2010. He was born in Denver, Colorado on June 14, 1932 to Elmer & Gladys Ehrlich. He married Xanna Williams of Marfa, Texas and together they had 4 children.Dick graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1950. He attended Colorado A&M, now known as CSU, then received his Master's from Troy University. He entered the US Air Force in 1954 as a Fighter Pilot and retired after 22 years with the rank of Lt. Colonel. In 1974 he attended Air War College in Montgomery, Alabama.After retiring Dick was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's Cathedral for several years and was in charge of the 100th Anniversary Celebration of St. Mary's Cathedral. He volunteered at Care and Share, Right to Life and La Casa Contenta.He is survived by his wife, Xanna, children, Kathlyne Jimenez, Linda Ehrlich, Carolyn Ehrlich & Michael Ehrlich; grandchildren, Michael Jimenez, Jason Ehrlich and three Great-Grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Pat.The family will receive friends during a Memorial Reception on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue.A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 23, 2010, 2:00PM at St. Mary Cathedral, 22 W. Kiowa Street.Memorial Contributions may be made in Dick's memory to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E.
