Obituary of Winston 'Buck Edgar Varnell

Buck Varnell passed away on June 28, 2010. He was born August 19, 1916 in Pueblo, Colorado and has lived in Colorado Springs for over 65 years. Buck is preceded in death by his wife, Jewel, his son, Tom, his daughter Darla Morgan, and his grandson, Kirk Morgan.Buck leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, all of whom he was very close to.He served in the United States Navy in WWII and sailed in the Pacific. Buck co-owned his own drywall business and took great pride in the product he produced. Buck's pride and joy was the family he loved so very much. He always put the family's needs before his own. He was an example of patience, love and sacrifice. He worked as a painter up until the age of 92, which clearly showed what a hard worker he was. Grandpa Buck will always be in our hearts, and his example will always be in our lives.Grandpa Buck will be greatly missed but never forgotten.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10:00AM at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E.
