I was searching for friends of my childhood when I found this, I can't believe Jared has past on. during my childhood Jared was my very best friend, almost all of my earliest memories have Jared in them. I remember always begging my parents to let me go to his house to play or have him come to mine. We used to always do so many fun things together, one of our favorite things to do was play army men, we used to gather all of our Nerf guns together and spend hours in his backyard fighting imaginary enemies or sometimes chase and terrorize his sisters! We also both loved playing video games, We used to rush after school to play the game Rampage on Nintendo, he was always the gorilla and I was always the lizard, I remember one time during a sleep over we played it all the way through to the end, it took nearly all night but once we finished we were so excited, we swore we thought we were the only kids to ever beat that game. While in school we came up with this awesome idea, basically we used to each take a piece of paper and draw these huge armies. The rules were that they all had to be pigs ( I have no idea why we chose that haha). we would spend all recess drawing up pig tanks, pig jets and giant robot pigs, we would then draw out these epic pig battles. He would always save the drawings and then break them out during breaks and we would pick it up right where we left off. To this day I still can't remember why we ever stopped hanging out with each other, I guess being in different classes we just sort of moved on, but it's still one of the things I sincerely regret in my life. I know if I had just contacted Jared a little sooner we could have been friends again, I find it funny he became so interested in computers, as I too am a huge computer geek as well. I'm sorry we couldn't continue our friendship after elementary school, but i'm glad you were my best friend during that time, I'll always remember the fun we had and I thank you for that.

I read of a reverend who stood to speak at the funeral of his friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning...to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earthâ₦ and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own; the carsâ₦the houseâ₦the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hardâ₦ are there things youâ

I loved having Jared in my class. He was intelligent, worked hard, always polite and I wish all my former students were more like him, easy to teach. I knew him from and early age as he was also in my wife's elementry class. Long time friends, our hearts go out to Jarad's Mom Jan and family.
