I first met Mark at Vandenberg back in 2008 while training for satellite operations. I was his "class leader" and got to spend some quality time with Mark. Having also majored in history in college, he and I could have some nice conversations that might be "dull" to others. Upon being assigned to Schriever, Mark and I were both SVOs and entrusted each other with the "well-being" of the Air Force's Milstar satellites. He was always trustworthy and would always "lend-a-hand". He would sometimes come to my home with Tobi in his sidecar (which made my daughters laugh). He was always fun to have around and always cheerful. He is missed daily! Everyday, I "salute" him when I pass Dragon Man's on my way to work as he liked to target practice there. I haven't missed a day yet!

Just found out and am shocked. I wish I had a chance to be there for him. His loss is such a tragedy. My heart goes out to his family. It is hard to grasp the idea of him being gone so suddenly. Miss you Mark...they don't come any better than you.

I lost touch with Mark after he left Little Rock AFB for bigger better things. When he first arrived at Little Rock AFB he was young and full of dedication. He had an amazing way of radiating inspiration to those around him. It was an honor to serve with him. The Air Force lost a true leader. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

I just found out about Marks passing via a post on facebook. It's truely saddening, the loss of such a great person. Mark was in my brother flight in basic training, we were in the same Tech School class for Jet Engine Mechanic, and then we got stationed at Little Rock together. Once Mark recieved the well deserved scholarship from the AF, I didn't hear much from him. I know he was working hard at school just as he did everyting else. I had talked to him a couple times. The last time he asked if he could use me for a reference for security clearance or background check or something. The last 2 year, I've been staioned in Okinawa, Japan. My thoughts and Prayers go out to all if Marks Family and Friends. He was truely a great guy, a great friend, and a great co-worker. Mark...You will be Missed. Rest In Peace Buddy!!

As a fellow Iowan, I always had that connection with Lt. Moret. He seemed everything everyone described him as. I talked with him about commissioning and even his old Bronco. He seemed so full of life, and it is still a shock that this is where we all are today.

I'll never forget Mark's willingness to work hard and to learn. I taught Mark at Schriever when he first arrived there and I could tell right away that he was a great person. Mark was always happy and kind and thoughtful. I'll never forget the time he offered to watch my dog, who was a puppy, becuase I had made plans to go home and visit my parents. He was so happy to do it because my dog and Tobi got along and played well with each other. That's how I'll remember Mark: as a happy, hard working guy and he will be missed.

Growing up in a small town together, Mark was like another brother to me. When he was at ISU he always greeted me with the biggest bear hug. It was a game to see who could sneak a hug first. Mark loved taking long motorcycle rides. We enjoyed cruising around Des Moines and eventually loop around Saylorville Dam with a pit stop at Sonic. I know he'll find a way to sneak a hug from above.

Mark was, and still is a great man. A man among men. They didn't come any better then him, and this world is a better place because of him. Mark had the ability to light up a room, and impact anything he touched in every way imaginable. I wish there were more people like Mark in this world, for it would be a better place, however I know now that he will always be looking in on those who he cared about from time to time, ensuring they always do the right thing just like he did. Gonna miss you man, but i know someday we will meet again. Thank you for the fun times, amazing memories, and great laughs.

I remember when I found out I was going to be maintenance officer when I got commissioned, Mark was one of the people I went to for advice on how to not fail my airmen. He took the time to talk with me and give me advice from his perspective as a prior enlisted maintainer. I keep that advice in mind every day. He was a good guy, and I know the Air Force is better because of him. It is unfortunate he didn't get to continue to make it better.

The memories I have of Mark. Cutting his hair when he was just a kid, the way he made me smile whenever I saw that infectious smile of his. I am so proud of what he did with his life and this sudden loss is overwhelmingly sad. My deepest condolences to his family at this sad time. I am lucky to have known him and will miss that silly smile and twinkle in his eye. All my love, Jenny Orr
