Obituary of Gertrude Ellen Rose

Gertrude "Trudy" Ellen RoseJuly 24, 1922- July 30, 2010Trudy peacefully passed away on July 30 in her home with her loving family by her side. Moving to Colorado Springs from Salina, Kansas, she and her family established roots which extend to the present time. Trudy was a very active member of the Corpus Christi Church community, an original member of a life-long pinochle group, loved to play bridge at the Colorado Springs Senior Citizen Center, and was a member of the Pikes Peak Sewing and Jazz Society. Trudy taught private lessons to many piano students from the 1960's through 1982. Trudy moved with her husband, Forrest Rose to Sun City, Arizona where she loved to play golf, paint, create stained glass sculptures, and play pool. She moved back to Colorado Springs in 2002 after her husband passed away to be closer to her daughters; Donna Rose and Rita Zartman and her sons; Larry and Mark Rose. Trudy is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest and son, David. Trudy loved music and could be seen at many of the fine arts center productions, Pikes Peak Sewing and Jazz Society event and many at the Little London Winds Park concerts. Trudy will be missed buy her many close friends and family members, but she is at peace with Jesus and can now happily waltz with her husband.Visitation will be from 4:00PM-7:00PM, Tuesday August 3, 2010 with a Rosary being recited at 6:00PM at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue.Trudy's Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:00AM on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
