Obituary of Robert T. Williamson

Robert T. Williamson, 84, died July 31, 2010. Born July 29, 1926 at Oakland, California to Harold and Minerva Williamson. Growing up there, he enlisted and served in the Army Air Corps, later to become the U.S. Air Force, during the latter days of WWII. Bob then attended the University of California at Berkeley; Bob lived in Oakland until moving to Monument, Colorado in 1994 so that he and his wife of 65 years, Gloria, could be near children and grandchildren.Bob was truly a jack-of-all-trades, but unlike the familiar saying, he was master of many. He was especially drawn to boating pursuits, and loved the ocean. Bob was an expert boat builder, and much preferred to work with wood rather than the now-more-common fiberglass, although anything Bob built would float and perform. He would say, "If God had intended fiberglass boats, He would have made fiberglass trees."Bob is survived by his beloved wife Gloria; two children, son David of Nashville, Tennessee; and daughter Diane Brown of Monument. Bob was dearly loved by his seven grandchildren, Raul Brown, Sara Brown, Rachel Moore, Daniel Brown, Scott Williamson, Aimee Joy Weimer, Kara Tualatai and eight great-grandchildren, Garrett Williamson, Emma Rose Weimer, Seth Weimer, Chase Weimer, Maxwell Weimer, Lily Joy, Ezra Rockwell Tualatai and Sami Tualatai.Bob looked forward all of his adult life to the day he would "graduate" for eternity into the heavenly presence of his Savior and his Lord, Jesus Christ. His family and friends are comforted in the knowledge that He is now breathing pure celestial air.Funeral Services will be held at 10:30AM, Tuesday, August 3 at Tri-Lakes Chapel, 1750 Deer Creek Road, Monument, Colorado.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909 Events Cemetery Tuesday, August 3, 2010 2:30PM Evergreen Cemetery 1005 Hancock Expressway Colorado Springs, CO 80903 Phone: 719-578-6646 Service Tuesday, August 3, 2010 10:30AM Tri-Lakes Chapel 1750 Deer Creek Road Monument, CO Phone: 719-328-1793
