Obituary of Reinhilde "Hilde" Marie McDorman

Reinhilde passed away at the age of 77 in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 22, 2010.Reinhilde was born March 25, 1933 in Lenggries, Germany to Martin & Elisabeth Sedlmeier.She is survived by her husband, Marion S. McDorman, two sons, Peter and Richard McDorman, four grandchildren and one great-grandson, her brother, Willy Sedlmeier (Jennifer) and their vast families.Reinhilde was a compassionate and dedicated friend, a wonderful mother, grandmother (OMA) to everyone who had the privilege of getting to know her. One of her favorite quotes was:"If you meet me and forget my name you have lost nothing. But if you meet Jesus and forget him you have lost everything."Reinhilde was dedicated to her religion and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was a choir member for many years and also served as a volunteer in a health center. She was a long standing member in the German American alpenland Club.She was an extremely generous and caring person. Her favorite charities were "Feed the Children and St. Jude Children's Hospital.As her husband, I can only add to the certificate of appreciation that she received from the U.S. Army upon my retirement:"On the occasion of the retirement of her husband from active status with the UNITED STATES ARMY, she has earned grateful appreciation for her own unselfish, faithful and devoted service. Her unfailing support and understanding helped to make possible her husband's lasting contribution to the Nation". She was my rock and will be eternally missed.A Rosary will be held at 1:00 PM with a Memorial Mass to follow, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3122 Poinsetta Drive.Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
