Obituary of James T. Moorehead

James (Jim) Moorehead, 68, passed away at his home on November 16, 2010 with his family by his side. He was born in Utica, New York to the late Sophie E. Lloyd and James F. Moorehead on July 20, 1942.At the age of 17 years old, Jim went into the U.S. Army. He served 20 years in the U. S. Army as a combat Medic retiring in Colorado Springs in 1979. During his time in the Army, Jim was stationed in Germany, United States, Korea and Vietnam.He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Moorehead. They met in Hanau, Germany and then were married on May 19, 1965. Jim is survived by three daughters, Terry (Tom) Loskoski, Sandra (Randy) Zimmerman and Carolyn (Jason) Weber; five grandsons, Nicholas (Terah) Wages of Idaho, Hayden and Joshua Weber, and Kyle and Gavin Zimmerman; granddaughter, Chelsea Wages; and great grandson, Owen all of Colorado Springs. Jim is also survived by his brother, Patrick Moorehead of Springville, NY.He was preceded in death by his parents, Sophie E. Lloyd (deceased 1990) and James F. Moorehead (deceased 1966).Jim will be missed by many. His sense of humor made him an unforgettable character.A full military honors service will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at The Soldiers' Memorial Chapel on Fort Carson at 2:00 PM.
