Obituary of John Francis Heintz
John Francis HeintzOctober 7, 1921 – December 4, 2010John was the oldest of four children born to Eunice and John Heintz at home in St. Louis, Missouri. He joined Zion United Methodist Church 77 years ago and around the church he built a beautiful life. As a teenager in the youth group at Zion he met a girl named Jean Burt.Upon graduation from Cleveland High School, John became an apprentice tool and die maker. John loved his work.In August of 1944, John married Jean Burt and five days later would leave to serve as a Sea Bee in the US Navy during World War II. Their 66 years together were filled with love, laughter, family and friends. Their children, Martha and Gary became the center of their lives. John loved his family, church and work. Much time was spent in service to his church. He will be remembered for so many things. He handcrafted beautiful crosses out of wood, enjoyed dancing with his loving wife, Jean and always found time to be with his buddies to tend to the church grounds. He loved those riding lawn mowers at Zion.John was dearly loved by his three granddaughters, Michelle, Sarah and Emily. On his 89th birthday on October 7, 2010 he gathered with his family to eat some good bar-b-cue and blow out his birthday candles. After sharing stories with us he ended with a wish for all of us; that our lives may be as good as his had been. He was a grateful man, grateful for his Lord, his family and his life.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
