Obituary of Lucille Hopkins

Lucille C. HopkinsJuly 13, 1927 – January 27, 2011Lucille (Lucy) C. Hopkins passed away on January 27, 2011 in her home with family by her bedside. She was born in Ferdinand, Indiana on July 13, 1927 to Hubert and Henrietta Berg and has been a resident of Colorado for the past 38 years. Lucy was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.She was an avid golfer for many years and was very active in the Patty Jewett and Valley Hi women's golf leagues. Quilting was also a hobby and she made many beautiful quilts which were given to friends and family or donated to charitable causes. Lucy was very friendly and outgoing with a great personality. She made friends easily and brought an extra measure of joy to all who knew her well. She was a dedicated homemaker for her family and loved being with her grandchildren.She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church prior to moving from Colorado Springs to Teller County.Lucy is survived by her husband, Marvin H. Hopkins; their four sons, Michael, David, Douglas and Steven Hopkins; two sons from a previous marriage, Thomas and James Jackson; and sister, Mrs. Betty McKay. She was also blessed with ten grandchildren who are all surviving.Viewing will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2320 N.
