Obituary of Margaret M. Cooper

Margaret M. Cooper, 89, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care after a brief stay. She was born January 14, 1922, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Edgar F. and Bridget May (McGinty) Leeper and was a graduate of Radium High School, Radium, Kansas. She married Glenn E. Cooper of St. John, Kansas, on July 15, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in November of 2000 and daughter, Leta M. Lacy, in 1998. She is survived by one son, Gary E. Cooper of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two daughters, Reta M. Juiliano of Shawnee, Kansas; and Glennis A. Willy of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Margaret is also survived by nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Margaret was a retired credit manager for Diamond Lumber Company and a loving homemaker. She is a member of Holy Apostles Catholic Church and their Golden Agers. She is a life member of the Daughters of Isabella at St. Rose Catholic Church in Great Bend, Kansas. Margaret loved her family and many friends. She enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and the Denver Nuggets. The family would like to thank the staff and management of Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care for their thoughtful and loving care. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2011 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80909.A Memorial Mass will be said at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2011 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church with the Reverend Paul Wicker officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care, in care of the funeral home.
