Obituary of Elinor P. Granzow

Elinor P. Granzow was born November 12, 1928, in Apollo, Pennsylvania, and spent most of her childhood in Chicago. Elinor and Ken married in Chicago in 1952. While Ken served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955, Elinor worked at Fort Monmouth in New Jersey. Elinor and Ken started their family in Urbana, Illinois. In 1959, they moved to Albuquerque, where Elinor continued to care for her family. In 1986, they relocated to Colorado Springs.Elinor volunteered at four Colorado Springs nursing homes, leading hymn singings. She was an active member of Pulpit Rock Church and volunteered, helping the senior citizens. She often walked around hugging and kissing her church family, spreading love and care.Elinor passed away on August 23, 2011, in a tragic accident. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.Elinor is survived by her husband, Ken; her children, Mark (Sue) Granzow, Barb (Jim) Erickson, Glen Granzow, and Lee Ann (Mark) Nevius; her sister, Martha Featherstone; eight grandchildren; and two unborn great-grandchildren.A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Pulpit Rock Church, 301 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs.
