Obituary of Ruth Nora Jennings Huggins

Ruth Nora Jennings Huggins, 98, died on Thursday, September 15, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ruth was born June 15, 1913 in Bertram, Texas. She lived in Texas for 91 years before moving to Colorado Springs in 2004. She retired after a long career of teaching school, a teaching career that began in the same one-room school-house she attended in Oatmeal. She was married to B. C. Huggins, Jr., who preceded her in death.Ruth is survived by her son Barry Huggins, his wife Karen Huggins of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Lisa Huggins of Austin, Texas, Laurie Robinson (A. C.) of San Antonio, Texas, Megan Land (Drew) of Durban, South Africa, Benjamin Huggins (Lauren) of South Canaan, Pennsylvania; great grandchildren, Amber Lanter, Kelsey and Austin Robinson, Jonas, Eden, Daia, and Anya Land, Benaiah, Gabrielle, Moses and Mariam Huggins and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her son, Alan Keith Huggins and his wife, Elizabeth Russ Huggins as well as 11 brothers and sisters.The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Sunridge Retirement Residence as well as her other caregivers for their wonderful friendship and care of Ruth.There will be a Graveside Service at Forest Park East, Webster (Houston), Texas on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM. A Memorial Service will be held at Sunridge Retirement Residence at 5820 Flintridge in Colorado Springs at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 25, 2011.
