Obituary of Rose Nell Harris

Rose Nell Harris, age 84, passed peacefully on January 11, 2012.Rose Nell was born to John and Allie Willis in Newton County, Arkansas, on February 15, 1927. She married Floyd Bradley Harris in 1944. The family moved from south Texas to Colorado Springs in 1958 where Rose Nell worked at Ampex until retirement. Her husband, Floyd, and beloved daughter, Patricia Hamilton, preceded her in death. Rose Nell's family was most important to her. She loved to read, do puzzles, crochet, and eat Mexican food. She was an independent, strong woman. Rose Nell is survived by her sister, Helen Hardy; son, Johnny Harris (Judy); grandchildren, Angela Vaitkus (Keith), John Harris (Emma), Allison Toomey (Joel), April Harris; and great grandchildren who put a sparkle in her eyes and a smile on her face, Isabel, Devon, Claire, Katelyn, and Killian.A celebration of Rose Nell's life will be at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, on January 20, 2012, at 1:00 pm with reception afterwards. Private burial will follow. Donations may be made to Susan G.
