Obituary of Pamela Louise Therrell Duffy

Pamela Louise Therrell, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 while residing at Laurel Manor Care Center. Born in Manning, South Carolina, on January 2, 1941, to Woodrow Wilson Therrell and Gladys Louise Duncan. She was the only red head in the family and had a very bright unique personality from the very beginning. Pam was a military wife who traveled extensively and enjoyed it for the most part. She made friends easily and kept some for many years. She shared her knowledge of the world, her love of great books, music, recipes and her faith but most importantly her strength of character. She treasured her family above everything else and felt that they were her greatest achievement. To her children she was "Mama" someone you could go to with any problem or circumstance, from a skinned knee to a broken heart and she would do all that she could to make you feel better and help in any way possible. To her grandchildren and great grand children, she was simply "Nana". She made each one feel very special and unique with her hearts mission to instill love, worth and acceptance in each one as early as possible.Pam gave her time and energy to listening, encouraging and helping her family to have a happy fulfilling life Pam was a woman who loved deeply; had compassion for others and was a great conversationalist. She possessed an unrelenting tenacity to never give up; she had tremendous strength to overcome every obstacle.Pam had a sense of humor that would catch you off guard and make you laugh out loud She was a person that loved to give, making Christmas her favorite holiday. She received many miracles and dedicated much time to praying for her children and grandchildren. She was a committed Christian that received many miracles throughout her years that extended her time with us. In the days and weeks prior to her passing as her health and strength were declining, she expressed her desire to be with the Lord where there would be no more pain and suffering. Pam would want everyone to rejoice and not be sad. She would want her loved ones smiling and remembering all our wonderful memories of her. Today we can rejoice in the knowledge that she has passed the barrier of time as we know it and is forever at home with her Savior. Pam fought the good fight; she has finished her race and now receives her rewards in heaven.Pam is survived by her five children, son Russell, son Steve and wife Linda, daughter Lynn and husband David, daughter Sharon Michelle and daughter Stephanie and husband Tod; nine grandchildren Alyssa, Andre', Bella, Chris, Casey, Jeremy, Joseph, Justin and Jenna Grace; five great grand children Evan, Aliyah Rose, Joe-Joe, Kylee and Kalab; her sister Fran and husband Ed Anderson and her brother Larry.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909 Events Visitation Sunday, February 5, 2012 1:00PM - 4:00PM The Springs Funeral Services 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Phone: 719-207-8855 Service Monday, February 6, 2012 4:00PM The Springs Funeral Services 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Phone: 719-207-8855
