Howard was a great friend to me & my daughter and will be missed so dearly. His passion for living life to the fullest was a part of him I will always remember and will continue in my life in memory of him. He has influenced my life tremendously and I am a better person from knowing him. I know he would not want any of us to be saddend by his departure but would want us to celebrate his life. He was a very strong, adventurous, & passionate man. His laughter was contagious and will be missed. He was always willing to lend a hand to those needeing his help. He was one of the best friends I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I will always remember him and miss him but keep him in my heart for a lifetime. I had the privilege of being Howard's across the street neighbor during my Jr. High & High School years. I remember his kind heart, bright eyes and contagious smile. I had the blessing of getting to see and visit with him at our last class reunion. He was happy and loving life. My prayers are with his wife, son and family. Rest in Peace Howard - you will always be remembered and in the hearts of the many people you touched.

What a loss.....Howard was fun, funny, charismatic, caring, bright and generous....one of the "good guys". I have talked with Howard just a few times at parties and get togethers and was always made to feel welcome and included by Howard. Even though I had only met Howard a few times I felt a genuine affinity toward and enjoyment of this smart, funny man.... My deepest condolences to Deb and little Howard. Godspeed and Blessings to you both....

Debra, I send my deepest condolences to you and Little Howard. Howard was dedicated to his job and proud to serve the people here in Texas and there in El Paso County. I liked talking to Howard about football, X Games, motocross and a favorite topic: our families. Howard was a very proud father and husband, you both made him so happy. He had a nice smile and kind eyes. What a terrible loss all too soon for all who knew Howard. Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal, love leaves a memory that no one can steal. â

Many have listed Howard's great characteristics and for me it was his friendship. It is rare to find authentic people you can call friends, but with Howard there was no doubt. When you find people with his commitment to friends and family you want to keep them close. It's unfortunate that we couldn't have shared more time. I will miss him very much. Jess, Chase and I will always be just a phone call away to help you Deb & Howard.

Although I only knew Howard for a brief time, he left a lasting impression. His dedication to his job and the people he worked with was total, but his primary focus and love was always his family. My heart breaks for Debra and litte Howard, who have had to deal with so much in such a short period of time. I trust that they will be comforted by the thoughts and prayers of all of Howard's family and friends, and by the memories of a loving husband and father.

Howard was a great friend and someone who stood by those that he loved. Howard and I were friends in high school and I think of Howard often. Howard didnt have to try to make people like him we were drawn to him with his gentle demeanor, but if you crossed Howard or one of his friends or people with whom Howard held dear he stood up for you and had your backside covered. A few words that come to mind when I think of Howard. Honor, Strong, Loved, Friend, Passionate, Watchful, Caring, Daring, Quiet, Thoughtful, Courageous, Good Athlete, Adventurous, Fun Loving, Howard you will always live within me and so many that you touched making the world a better place.

I am still in shock at the loss of such a young, intelligent and ever helpful friend as Howard. Had it not been for Howard who always kept insisting that I go to the Social Security office when I became a widow in 2008, I would have not even given a passing thought to Widow's Benefits. When he would be outside with us we asked him more questions and received so very much advice from him, he was my own personal financial advisor. We also had the pleasure of meeting little Howard and how thrilled we are that we did. He knew when "the girls" took their break where he would find us, what a pleasure to talk and laugh with him. Hopefully, our stories and sense of humor took some of the stress away from him for at least a while. I know how hard this time is for you, it's been 4 years for me and I still think of my husband daily. Please stay in touch with Dana and my thoughts and prayers are with you and little Howard. God Bless.

I cannot believe I forgot to put in Howard's finest characteristic, his Integrity. He wanted only the best for the employees and their retirement funds, and I have no doubt no one would be able to insist that he back down from what he truly believed in. Somehow I just don't see Howard to have ever been a "YES" man. He would always fight the good fight, that is what character and integrity are all about. Someone out there has some very big shoes to fill!

As a member of the Retirement Board, words cannot adequately explain the admiration and trust I had in Howard. He is one of those few people in life who would truly give you the shirt off his back. His commitment and dedication to the retirement plan and the members of the plan was evident from the first day he was hired; full of energy and passion it was contagious. He never once wavered on his convictions and was a man of integrity always looking for what was best for all concerned. I know I am a better person for having the privilege of calling him friend. My heartfelt condolences Deb to you and little Howard for I know you have lost someone very loving, caring and special. As he continually told me, you were the glue that held him together. God bless you both and rest in peace Howard.

I am very saddened at the loss of our dear friend and at such a young age. He was high spirited, energetic, and one of the most friendly people I ever had the good fortune to know and hang with over the years. His son needs to know exactly how wonderful his father was. I know Howard will be looking down on his pride and joy and enjoying watching the successes his offspring will undoubtedly have in his future. Howard will forever be missed, but never forgotten. My sincerest condolences to all of his friends and family during this tough and emotional period. Love to all. Dennis
