Obituary of Cole Jay Hanson
Cole Jay Hanson passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2012 in Colorado Springs at the age of 18 years, one month and two days. Cole was born on May 28, 1994 to Jill and Jay Hanson in Colorado Springs and lived there his entire life. Cole attended school in Colorado Springs. Most recently, he attended Pikes Peak Community College and was planning on transferring to Metro State College in Denver this fall. In his younger years, Cole played baseball, basketball and football. He enjoyed skateboarding, long boarding, snowboarding, golfing, making music on his computer and spending time with his many friends. Cole loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hiking in the Garden of the Gods and the bluffs at Pinon Valley. He always looked out for his little brother, Luke.Cole's memory will be cherished forever by his mother, Jill Hanson; his father & step-mother, Jay and Nita Hanson; his brother, Luke; his grandparents, Clarice Reiff, Marsha Hanson, Larry Hanson and Deb Fanta; his aunts and uncles, Pam and Doug Dooyema, Sandy and Ron Soyland, Lora Reiff and Sam Hanson; cousins, Andrew, Sam, Eli, Naomi, Jeremiah and Jed Dooyema, Katie (Jordan) Kopp, Amanda (Brad) Bullerman, Kelsey (Jake) Hendricks, Rachel and Ryan Soyland. Cole was preceded in death by his grandfather, Johnnie Reiff. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, July 5 at Woodmen Valley Chapel 290 E.
