I was stationed at Galena Alaska with Lucy in 1992. She was one of the finest and caring people I have ever met and also one of the best Air Traffic Controllers too. She wrote me a letter on September 3, 1993, sharing with me that she had married Johnny and had made Staff Sergeant. Like Alejandra, I searched for Lucy on Google. I too am disappointed that I did not stay in touch with Lucy after she left Galena. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I just today saw you entry, thanks for your kind words. Lucy still thought of you often but as her sickness progressed she wanted people to remember her as she was so as bad as she wanted to see her friends her sickness prevented it. You know Lucy she did not want anyone to feel sorry for her, she was a fighter to the end. I hope you and your family are well. Sharnee is in college in Colorado so its just Jon and I. Lucy's love and spirit keep us going. if you would ever like to talk about Lucy or what happened I am at 719-332-1579. Thanks for everything. Johnny

I am so saddened by the loss of my very best friend. I met Lucy at Eglin AFB and she was so good to me. I have been looking for her for so long and unfortunately just found this obituary on line. I am in shock. I loved this girl very much. Had so many memories. I can't express my condolences. I am so sorry for your loss. I am wondering what happened to her. Please forgive me but I wanted so bad to find her. I am so sorry about this.

I came to visit you one summer in Colorado, and you told me to repeat these words after you: "I am a daughter of god, i am beautiful & i am strong and who ever disagrees w.me, they can kiss my as*" Lol it was funny at the time, i remember you giving me that "look" because i wouldn't say it. Aunty Lucy I Love You So much, im so sad you had to go so soon, but i am more happy that you no longer have to suffer and feel sick anymore. You were and still are such a beautiful woman. One of the strongest women i know and definitely a daughter of god. You'll be in my heart forever, please give my grandpa and uncle ray and the rest of our family BIG hugs and kisses. I LOVE YOU BEAUTIFUL!

What moves through you now is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. You may not understand why she had to leave this earth so soon, or why she left before you were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, the memories will begin to flood your mind, and you will begin to remember, not just that she died but that she lived and that God blessed you to share in that life, even if for just a little while. My prayers are with you all, may God comfort and give you strength during this difficult time. As much as our heart hurt, remember, Lucy is at rest now, no more pain, no more suffering, she is in a better place and she loved each of you will all her heart & soul! She will be missed!
