Obituary of Jennifer I. Doubleday
Jennifer Irene Doubleday was born May 24, 1958 to Al and Nita Day in Boise, Idaho. She left her earthly life September 21, 2012 to join her Heavenly Father after living with a rare form of cancer for the past several years.She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Doubleday and grandson Logan of Warrington, UK; son Jonathon (Amy) Doubleday; mother Nita Day; brothers Jeff (Dolly) Day and Jerry (Robin) Day; and her former husband Keith Doubleday. She will be missed by many relatives, co-workers, and friends.She was preceded in death by her father, Al Day and brother Jim Day.Jeni was very talented in the arts, working in beading, jewelry making, stained glass, fabric art, and screen printing. Her lifelong love of animals large and small led her to working in veterinary clinics. For the past 15 years, , she has worked at Aspen Ridge Equine Hospital with Dr. Chuck Woodall, DVM. Her horses, dogs, and cats are going to good friends who will give them loving homes.Jeni's family would like to thank Pikes Peak Hospice, especially Lori, for providing home care and comfort to all of us the past 9 months. Jeni was the Captain of her Ship on her final voyage with the loving care of her brother, Jerry Day as her First Officer, and her close friend of 40 years, Julie McNames. Jeni chose cremation with her ashes to fly on the wind in the mountains she loved.Celebration of Life Service with reception to follow 1:00PM, Sunday, October 7, 2012 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue Colorado Springs.
