Obituary of Samuel C. Bader

Springs, passed away at a local care facility on November 4, 2012. He was born on July 31, 1928, in Marion, Ohio. Sam was a professional musician since 1946, retiring from the United States Air Force in 1971 after having served as trombonist, bassist, and arranger. After his last assignment in the Norad Band at Ent Air Force Base and Peterson Field, he continued to play and teach music locally and in Alabama until 2010. He was a member of the Retired Air Force Musicians Association.Sam also worked for U.S. West, Hertz, and Wells Fargo after retirement until 1993. He enjoyed acrylic landscape painting, as well as scale model and railroad building of all types. He was a skilled marksman and black powder enthusiast, participating in several rendezvous in Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico.Sam took pride in remaining active and independent until the end of his life, despite significant health issues and was an inspiration to his family.He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Bader in 2002. He is survived by his son Sam (Annette) Bader, Jr. of Colorado Springs, and his daughter Rebecca Sue (Mike) Van Horn of Clayton, Oklahoma and Alamogordo, New Mexico.A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00PM, Thursday, November 8, 2012 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Ave, Colorado Springs, CO.
