Maria Percilla Hymes (Ferrer), 83, departed November 24, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.Maria was born September 17, 1929 in San Acacio, Colorado to Benjamin & Eduarda Garcia. She was a Housekeeping Supervisor for Eisenhower Hospital and her hobbies included, needlepoint, crochet, collecting coins. She liked her flowers, birds and angels.She is the firm and fair Matriarch of a large family . Her strong character will be a guide for all her family to live by. She always had an open heart and home for everyone.She is survived by her children, Maria Hall, Virginia Woppel, Alicia (David) Falkenbach & David (Tanita) Ferrer. Thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren along with her sisters, Lysida Mondragon, Jane Green, Julia Villareal, Margie Elliott; brothers, Elias B. Garcia, Daniel Garcia and Richard Garcia.Maria was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, one daughter and two grandchildren.Rosary will be recited at 9:30AM, Thursday, November 29, 2012 at St Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 S. Corona Avenue followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM.
