Obituary of James A. Taylor
James "Jim" Taylor was called home by his Lord and Savior on December 13, 2012. He was at home in Colorado Springs, CO, surrounded by his wife, Mary Ellen (Wood) Taylor, daughters Julie Taylor Gilmore and Jill Taylor, son-in-law, Michael Gilmore and beloved granddaughter Abbey Gilmore. Jim was born September 26, 1940 in Mitchell, Indiana to Charles and Alice Flynn Taylor. He was preceded in death by both parents, four brothers (Paul, Robert, Michael and Charles Taylor) and one sister (Betty Taylor). Jim is also survived by five sisters (Margaret Grace, Rose Grace, Judy Reynolds, Lena Tanksley, and Marlene Tinkle) and two brothers (Frank Taylor and Randy Taylor) of Indiana. Also surviving are brother-in-law Darrell Wood, and wife Laura of Manhattan, Kansas, his sister-in-law Lavon Medlock of Superior, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman, and excelled at sharing not only his bounty but his stories and adventures. He loved the great outdoors , his church, and camping with the FCRV Trailblazers.
