Obituary of Richard Allyn Vogt

Richard Vogt, 64, died Friday February 1, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center. Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn, his son, Eric (Kristy) Vogt and daughter, Amy (James) Thomas and four grandchildren, and another on the way. Also surviving are two brothers, Jerry (Peggy) Vogt and Vonley (Carol) Vogt. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gayle (Marcia) Vogt.Richard dedicated his professional life to Firestone Tire Company, where he began working with them as a teenager as a "tire buster" and retired 37 years later from the district office. He was a hardworking man and his employee regarded him as fair, level-headed and a pleasure to work for and with. In his free time, Richard enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, travelling scenic landscapes and spending time with his family. He built his dream home and retired to the Colorado mountains in 2006.An open house Celebration of Life / Memorial will be held 1 to 4 pm February 23, 2013 at the family home.
