Obituary of Larry H. Courkamp

Larry H. Courkamp was born October 25, 1943 in Long Beach, CA to Zelma and Harold Courkamp as the oldest of four children. Larry grew up in Eastern Colorado on a farm near Wiley, CO. He attended Wiley High School and graduated in 1962. He then met the love of his life Konnie (Koch) in November 1965 and later married on June 4, 1965. Larry then moved his family to Colorado Springs, CO and worked construction for two years before starting his own business, C & C Construction. They had two sons, Troy and Chris Courkamp and later adopted daughter's Wendy and Ginger. Larry worked in construction his entire life upon his retirement and then later worked at Focus on the Family. Larry and was involved in many church activities through his life. After the death of his first wife, he later met the second love of his life, Dolly Eleanor Phillips, later they married in 2009. In 2004, he began his journey with Yahshua & Torah. Since then he has been an active member of Beit Ad-Nai Yiserael. Through his life he made lifelong friendships wherever he went and was a social butterfly. He loved involving himself with his kids' extracurricular activities, such as basketball and soccer. He was a caring and loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend. Larry passed away the morning of April 2, 2013 in his home in Colorado Springs, CO after his battle with cancer. He is survived by his mother, Zelma Courkamp; his sister, Sharon (Shane); his two brothers, John Courkamp and Tim Courkamp; his wife Dolly Eleanor Phillips; his two sons, Troy Courkamp and Chris Courkamp; his two daughters, Wendy (Walden) and Ginger Courkamp; and nine grandchildren.Larry will be missed by all who knew him, but we will rejoice with him in his passing on to his heavenly home.
