Obituary of Rowena M. Gaines

Rowena was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on the 26th of April 1935 to the union of James Hayes and Bernice Franklin Hayes. She attended school in Colorado Springs and was reared by her grandmother Lillian Harris. Rowena passed away on the 12th of April 2013 in her home. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth D. Gaines, Sr., daughter Sheila, son Steven, and her brothers Hoyt Moore, William Hayes, Robert Hayes, Henry Collins. She leaves to mourn a sister, Alice Elliott of CA and her loving children Kenneth, Jr and Robert of Columbus OH, Dell of CA, and Shaun of Colorado Springs. One daughter, Robin Wilson of Columbus OH. She has fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; her best friend and childhood classmate Betsy Grice Boyd and friend Marie Holmes. Caregiver Mary Rodgers, and special niece, Candice McKnight and a very loving cousin Tammy Smith. She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
