Obituary of Marilyn Vondell Retherford

Marilyn V. (Spalding) Retherford, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away April 15, 2013 surrounded by family and friends after more than a 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard H. Spalding and Dora M. (Hager) Spalding as well as three brothers and three sisters. Marilyn attended Central High School in Cape Girardeau, MO. She married Ronald L. Retherford on July 20, 1957 at The First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, MO and then followed her husband while in the USAF. She worked for the IRS, USAF Academy Cadet Library, The Procurement Office as well as the Procurement at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs, CO. She had four children; Darla (Alan) Ham, Robin Mulready, Ronald M. Retherford (Fiancee, Roxanne), Darren B. (Jana) Retherford, eight grandchildren, Justin (Lisa) Ham, Joshua (Tamra) Ham, Richard Retherford, Levonia Retherford, Joseph Mulready, Maeghan Retherford, Bradley (Diana) Retherford, Tanner Retherford and eight great-grandchildren, Amber Ham, Conner Roberts, Divinity Ham, Trevon Dunlap, Dakota Dunlap, Liza Ham, Zachariah Ham, Jaylha Retherford, as well as several nieces and nephews.In honor of Marilyn's Life, a memorial service will be held at The Springs Funeral Service, 3115 E. Platte Avenue, Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 1PM for family and friends.
