It tears me apart to lose an amazing friend like josh, and i can't imagine how hard this is for his family. he had a beautiful soul inside that body, an open and genuine heart of gold, and an intriguing mind. joshy was a blast to be around, even if it was just the two of us telling secrets and cracking jokes at each other, we never had a dull moment. he has helped me through so many struggles, been a person for me to confide in, a shoulder to cry on, and a trustworthy friend. we knew one another on a different level, knew each other's darkest secrets, and didn't judge each other for our choices or mistakes. he was loved because he was nothing but himself, 100% of the time, complete entertainment, goofy, caring, and honest. i never got to say my goodbyes to him, but he has been a positive impact on my life, and forever holds a place in my heart.

Josh is someone I will never forget, nor will most who knew him. We were good friends in elementary school, but he moved away. The years passed as they do, and when I eventually saw him again, neither of us recognized the other. But high school found us kindred spirits once more. In the three years which followed, we were good friends. The last we hung out, at the end of 2012, he told me he'd always felt like I was a protege or little brother. I'd always felt his attitude was something to aspire to, that he was a source of guidance for me, and I told him that. He helped me grow into a more well-rounded man, helped me get through some of the hardest years in my life. I would not be the man I am today had I not known Josh. I'm not the only one who can say that. I can only thank the family and friends who helped him become the fantastic person he was. If there is peace to be had beyond the mortal veil, I know of few people who deserve it more.

Josh, words escape me. I remember meeting you when we were both very young, to playing hide and go seek at your parents house, a ridiculous clown I won for you through a drawing through a local pharmacy - I wanted that clown, but knew it was better to give to you... to when we reunited as adults, and I thought your eye makeup was way better than I ever could do... still jealous. You were a wonderful person, with a great sense of humor. I didn't see you often, but I value the talks we had. Heaven is lucky to have you.
