Obituary of Nevis Day

Nevis was born March 23, 1936 in Cookson, Oklahoma to Woodrow and Della Day. He married Renate C. Schmidt and together they had two children. They came to Colorado Springs as an Army family and settled in Security, Colorado, Nevis retired from the U.S. Army in 1976 with the rank of Master Sergeant. He had a second career with the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo where he worked and retired from after 15 years of service.Nevis was a proud family man and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He loved the outdoors and was also an avid sports fan.He is survived by his loving wife, Renate; children, Michael C. Day and James D.
