Obituary of George Hirschfield

George Hirschfield was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 25, 1925. He died on May 10, 2013 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. George is survived by his daughter, Jennifer, who lives in Fairplay, Colorado with her family, Kelly, Dustin and Ian, and by his son, David, who lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland with his family, Karen and Sam. Mary Blair (Bunny) Hirschfield, his beloved wife, died in 1998. Always a teacher, George retired from the University of New Mexico in 1986 after 23 years in the Department of Education. He spent his remaining time with Bunny hiking, bird watching, and XC skiing in Colorado and Utah and then settled in Colorado Springs. George was one of the last of the true Renaissance men and his charming wit will be missed. Please send memories of George to Jennifer Gannon P.O.
