Obituary of James "Jack" L. Jackson
James L. Jackson was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 14, 192 7 to Ruth Ellen (Day) and James L. Jackson. He went to be with the Lord May 12, 2013 in Colorado Springs, CO. He graduated from the Miami Military Academy and El Paso Community College. Jack joined the Army Air Corp at the end of World War II. He served his country as an Air Traffic Controller in Olmsted, PA; Keesler AFB, MS; Goose Bay, Labrador; Enewetok Atoll, Marshall Islands (where they conducted atomic bomb testing in the Pacific); Lake Charles AFB, LA; Brize Norton, England; Thailand; Craig AFB, AL; Fort Campbell, KY; Sewart AFB, TN; Aviano Air Base, Italy; and Barksdale AFB, LA. After retiring from the military, Jack worked for 14 years at Safetran. Jack was an avid photographer and he leaves his family with many fond memories.Jack is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Triny (Carrasco) of Redford, TX. He also leaves behind his children, as Jack would say, "The monsters," Jim (and June) Jackson, Carole, (and Owen) Mott, Aneida (and John) Slomski, and Nancy Jackson. His grandchildren are Jeanie Jones, James Walker, Jennifer Hilton, Christina Rochette, Jonathan Huff, John Slomski, Joshua Huff, Alisa Huff, Carolyn Slomski, Robert Walker (deceased), James Jackson, Jennifer Jackson, and Ian Slomski. Jack also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Jack touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 2 pm, Sunday, May 19th at The Springs Funeral Services in Colorado Springs.Graveside with Military Honors will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Monday, May 20th at 12:15 pm, Staging area "C".In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Alzheimer's Association.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
