Obituary of Norman Hart
Norman Hart, 66, passed away on May 14, 2013, surrounded by his family at home in Peyton, Colorado. Norm was a beloved husband, son and brother, a dedicated father and grandfather, and a dear friend to many. He and his family shared a close bond that he naturally extended to his friends and his children's friends. Norm was a skilled horseman who enjoyed roping. He loved the mountains where he rode his horses and mules, blazing countless trails, hunting deer and elk, and sharing tales around the campfire. A man of tall and solid character, Norm was respected by all who knew him. Many referred to Norm as "our modern day John Wayne." Norm was born in Model, Colorado to Joseph Hart and Leora (Weeks) Hart. He married Donene Whale in 1970, and they lived together in southern Colorado for 36 years before moving to Peyton in 2005. After graduating from Hoehne School in Trinidad, Norm became a masonry contractor. He owned and operated Norm Hart Masonry in Colorado Springs for 46 years, retiring in 2011. Norm was proud to see his sons pursue their professions in the construction field. Norm is survived by his wife, Donene, son Donman and his wife Jennifer and grandchildren Kylie, JD, and West; son Darwin and granddaughter Cheyanne; son Paul Murray and his wife Melinda and their children; Norm's mother, Leora (Weeks) Seedig; sister Betty and her husband Richard Ritter; sister Bertha and her husband Glen Archuletta and sister Della Hollingsworth; brother Jay and his wife Evelyn; brother Ernest and his wife Amy; many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of long-time friends.
