Obituary of Elizabeth Jane Geist

Elizabeth "Betty" Jane (Hockenberry) Geist, born October 26, 1931, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2013. Betty grew up in a small coal mining town in Pennsylvania. After high school, she started a career in the Army where she met the love of her life Robert "Bob" Walter Geist. They married and she left the Army to be a mom.Together, Betty and Bob raised three daughters, Sandra (Jerry) Justice of Colorado Springs, CO, Brenda Geist of Alexandria, VA and Debra (Clay) Reynolds of Apple Valley, CA who survive her.Bob and Betty travelled extensively across the country in their motor home, enjoying retired life until cancer took him away from Betty in 1997, after 46 years of marriage. After Bob's passing, Betty began the next phase of her life in Colorado Springs, CO.Also surviving are four grandchildren: Aaron and Lindsay Justice of Colorado Springs, CO and Benjamin and Nick Reynolds of Apple Valley, CA and six great grandchildren Mariah, Kayla and Brandy Justice and Joseph, Jacob and Sage Cammaroto, all residing in Colorado Springs, CO.A special thanks to all the loving caregivers at Colonial Columns who touched Elizabeth's life and whose lives were touched during her two years in their care. Also thanks to Evercare Hospice for making her last days comfortable.Services and interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA on November 05, 2013 at 3:00pm where she will be laid to rest with her lifelong husband Robert.
