I'm so sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. Fifty-four years ago this July, when she was a teenager, she acted as child aide to help my mother, Virgina and Aunt Evelyn make the road trip from Detroit, where I had been born, to International Falls, Minnesota, where I was to live. This was my first journey and she was my first babysitter. I'm sure she was a fine one. I remember visiting her family in Grand Rapids in 1968 when she had become a glamorous grown-up and was so full of life. She was beautiful, fun and kind. When she moved out to Colorado Springs in the 70s, she invited us to come to visit her. She was so happy and proud of her new town, her home and her new family. I hope that whatever hardships came her way, she retained some of that joy in life. Godspeed Dorothy. We are the lesser for your loss. Cousin Eva

Mom taught us to love & enjoy so many things in life. Some favorite memories are going out to eat as kids, fighting over who could sit by her. She would take also took us to the movies & sometimes we did Double Feature Day. We loved spending our holidays with Aunt Pat, Uncle Ed, Kristi & Korbin. We would sing Christmas songs while mom played the autoharp. Mom enjoyed being involved with the Republican Party. She was a member of Mensa. She served on the Mobile Home Commission in Michigan. She volunteered with the Channel 35 Auction for many years. She sang & danced with the Sweet Adelines. Mom was thrilled to move back to Colorado Springs in 2000 & buy a home. She enjoyed the work she did here & really enjoyed retirement. She helped raise Cory & had so much fun teaching & playing with him. She was at home & Carol was by her side when she passed. She told Cory earlier in the day she would be singing & dancing up in heaven throwing him a birthday party there.

I would not be the man I have become without your caring and kindness. You will be missed.
