Obituary of Joanna Gail Jackson

On August 23, 2013 Joanna Gail Jackson went to be with her Savior after a courageous, two year battle with cancer.Joanna was born on December 15, 1970, to Myron (Mick) K. Jackson, and Beverly Talley Jackson, who live in Colorado Springs and survive her in death.Joanna is also survived by her sister, Julie A. Ribordy, and her husband Gary Ribordy, who reside in Rock Springs, Wyoming; by her sister, Jennie L. Morgan, of Edmond, Oklahoma; and by her brother, Lieutenant Colonel Russell K. Jackson, and his wife, Susan Shanaberger Jackson, who are currently stationed at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Joanna was a loving aunt to ten nieces and nephews.Joanna attended Calvary Baptist Christian School, Casper , Wyoming, until 1986. The family was transferred to Cody, Wyoming, and later to Findlay, Ohio, where Joanna graduated high school from Heritage Christian School in 1989. Joanna then attended Hyles Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana, graduating with a secretarial degree in 1992. After graduation, Joanna returned west, moving to Colorado Springs where she served twenty-one years as secretary for Timberline Baptist Church.An author, Joanna wrote The Abundant Single Life, which was published in 2012. She also detailed her testimony in a gospel tract which discussed her faith in light of impending death. Joanna also invested her life in ministry to the deaf.Blessed with a quick wit and infectious laughter, Joanna maintained her indomitable spirit throughout her illness. After her diagnosis, she adopted Philippians 1:20 as her life verse, because it was her heartfelt desire whether she lived or died, Christ would be magnified.
