Obituary of George C. Singer

George C. Singer passed away after a battle with cancer on September 7, 2013. He was surrounded by his loving family. George was born February 3, 1943 in Cecilia, Kentucky to John A. Singer and Gerti (Best), one of seven. George served in the United States Army for nearly 20 years, which included several overseas duties including Vietnam. After retiring, George started an appliance repair business which he was very proud of. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Brittney, garage sales, flea markets, listening to music, cooking, mushroom hunting and fishing.George is survived by daughter, Caroline Wehrmann and husband Mike Wehrmann, son Roger L. Singer, granddaughters, Brittney Griffiths and husband Derrick Griffiths, Rebecca Wehrmann, and great-grandson, Peyton Griffiths. Girlfriend, Isabell Rickert, sisters Mary Lockhart and husband Dave, Martha Short and husband Donnie. Also several nieces, nephews and cousins he loved dearly.He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, Billy Joe, and Everett, and sister, Lula.A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 4:30PM, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue.
