Obituary of Edward D. Duran

Edward Dennis Duran, 70, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 after a valiant battle with diabetes. Eddie was a retired Civil Service worker at Ft. Carson and a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was a member of the Boys Club and Palmer High School gymnastics team and won many awards, titles and championships. He performed in the Boys Club Big Top Circus as a high wire trapeze artist.Eddie enjoyed many hobbies including fishing and camping. He also enjoyed playing and watching sports, listening to music, dancing, travelling, sight-seeing and cooking homemade Spanish and Mexican dishes. Eddie is survived by his wife; Christine, son; Matthew (Sandra) Duran, two stepsons; Chris Jones, Billy Ray Jones, stepdaughter; Jennifer Jones, also surviving are three brothers; William (Connie)Duran, Robert (Patricia) Duran, Nick Duran, two sisters; Cheryl (Ronald) Miller, Carol (Brennan) Killmer, fourteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, a few aunts and uncles, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Marcelino and Nora (Garduno) Duran, infant son; Richard James Duran, a brother; Lawrence Duran, and a sister; Cynthia Duran. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013 at Pikes Peak Christian Church, 4955 Bradley Road, Security, Colorado 80911.
