Obituary of Alice Joyce Dilts

Alice spent the majority of her life in Colorado but also lived in Kansas and Nebraska. She worked in Food Service most of her career but she also worked at Quatum Computer Manufacturing until it was outsourced. Alice absolutely loved growing flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed bowling, auto racing, hot air ballooning, and fishing. Alice was involved in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and the Colorado Springs Balloon Classic. She liked to travel and see new places and was always open to try anything new. Alice was very social and was known to talk an ear or two off from time to time. Alice became ill with breast cancer and began treatment in January 2013. The breast cancer was in remission but she was still undergoing chemotherapy for cancer in her limp nodes. During a cancer screening an aortic aneurysm was discovered. She underwent an operation for the aortic aneurysm on October 1, 2013 and suffered numerous complications resulting from the surgery. She was ultimately taken off of life support on October 3, 2013. She was surrounded by her children, granddaughter and Reverend James Maxwell when she went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Rigdon; sons Daniel Darryl Dilts, and Gary Allen Walsh; granddaughter Rachelle Rigdon; three great-grandchildren, Devin Rigdon, Ariana Rigdon, and Serenity Rigdon, her brother and sisters Richard Ray Synoground, Dorothy Poplawski, and Helen Kanakais.Funeral service will be held at, 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013, at the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 120 N. 31st Street. A Graveside service will follow at, 1 p.m. Thursday, Fairview Cemetery. Burial, Fairview Cemetery.
