Ron Samuels posted a condolence
Wednesday, November 27, 2013
George served as a volunteer grief counsellor for Marin County. He helped me deal with the death of my Mother, Mrs. Willette Samuels, in 1993. Among other things, he suggested acknowledging the passing of a loved one by observing special occasions when you would have shared time or taken note of that person in your life: their birthday, holidays, or any other times that might bring them to mind. Plan something to remember them by, going to a special place you may have shared with them when they were alive, or just take a walk or look at the sunset. That way, when the emotional impact of being without them on that special time wells up, as it is very likelyto do, you will be better prepared for it. That will still happen, but it is less likely to catch you off guard, and, because you have put yourself in a place, even a mental place, that is associated with positive memories. Since I am the spouse of his nephew, he was my "Uncle-in-Law". I'll miss him, but will hold him in my memory. Deepest condolences to his son, King Dexter-Lewis. Ron Samuels
