Obituary of Carol Lee Wittrock
Carol was called Home by her Heavenly Father, after her valiant battle with cancer, to be with Him and her family. She was a Christian, and a joy to all who knew her. Her faith in God never once waivered and was strong throughout her Life. The daughter of Verl and Hazel (Peggy) Williams, she was born at her grandmother's house in Delta, CO where she grew up. She was adopted by her aunt and uncle, James and Jean Barber in 1955, after her parents and sister were killed in an auto accident.She graduated from Delta High School in 1963, and attended Hollywood Beauty College in Denver, CO and was a licensed beautician. She worked at Miller Stockman for a short time, then 12 years for the Colorado Department of Revenue. During this time, she met Lynn Wittrock. They were united in marriage August 21, 1976, and were happily married for 37 years and 3 months. Carol then moved to Colorado Springs, and worked 34 years for El Paso County Department of Social Services. She retired at the end of 2010 due to illness. She is survived by her husband, Lynn Wittrock; mother Jean Barber; sisters Ritta and Linda; aunts Maryann and Elsie; uncle John; four nieces; three nephews; and numerous cousins, grand and great grand nieces; and nephews.She liked crafts, cooking, gardening, (especially flowers), and enjoyed various activities with the Colorado Springs Corvette Club, Nomad Club, and Classic Chevy Club. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and served the Lord throughout her life by being a Sunday School Teacher, Missionette Leader, Role Model and a positive and joyous influence in many lives.Memorial Contributions may be made in Carol's name to the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church Ladies Guild or The Colorado Springs Corvette Club Christmas Basket Fund or the favorite charity of your choice.Her favorite bible verse is 2 Chronicles 20 v. 21 "Praise the Lord; for His mercy endureth for ever."Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
