Obituary of Edith Evalena Hackman
Edith Evalena Hackman, 83, of Colorado Springs, Colorado died November 20, 2013, at her home. Edith was born on November 27, 1929 in Estherville, Iowa, to Monroe R. Brown and Margaret Pauline Simon Brown. They moved to northern Minnesota when Edith was three years of age.She married Bruce G. Hackman on July 15, 1961, in International Falls, Minnesota. Later she moved to Manitowoc, Wisconsin and worked for J.C. Penny for nineteen and a half years. Bruce and Edith retired to Sulphur Springs in 1994. Edith is survived by two daughters; Connie (Jim) Christensen of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Evalena Hackman of Seattle, Washington, two sons; John (Dawn) Jacobson of Alto, Michigan, Gerald Hackman of Valparaiso, Indiana, sister; Winona (Earl) Hanson of Redding, California, brothers; Monroe Brown of Boston, Massachusetts, Stanley Brown of Leesville, Louisiana, and Marty Ray Brown of Loveland, Colorado, eight grandchildren; Emily, Jason, Erik, Zachary, Mike, Rudy, Ray, Mindi (Dustin) seven great-grandchildren; Alex, JT, Kara, Michael, Jaelynn, Alyssa Marie, Sarah, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Edith was preceded in death by her husband; Bruce, her parents, three sisters, and two brothers. Visitation will be 6PM to 9PM Friday, November 22, 2013 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909. A Funeral Services will be 11AM Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 1201 Leta Drive, Colorado Springs, 80911.
