Alan was a former co-worked. He had the most practically wired brain of any genius I ever knew! When I first met Alan he had PCS'd to then Falcon AFB to ("you want me to fly what?!!) become staff on one of the first satellite control squadrons being stood up. He separated shortly thereafter and went to work as a valued member of the CSOC Integration Support Contract (TRW) technical staff. While I worked for the Aerospace Corp. at the time, our paths crossed as a function of my assignment at the time: CSOC system level testing and follow-on OT&E. We discovered our mutual love of aviation in any form and together we spent the next several years talking about airplanes every chance we had: how they were made, and some of the heroes that flew them . Even after he "disappeared" into a somewhat cloaked work assignment we stayed in touch. During my last few months of tenure with Aerospace, Alan - then a multi-year Aerospace employee himself - was assigned to my staff. And what an honor it was for me to be able to brag to others "Alan works for me, pal!" I last saw him in good spirits this summer right after the Black Forest fire. Sadly, we discussed our loss of another mutual friend from the fire who also loved aviation. But our conversation quickly morphed into talk about grand kids and, yes, airplanes! I left him with a handshake and a smile on his face. I cannot begin to grasp the enormity of sadness his loss brings to his tightly knit family. Through prayer I can hope to ease their burden knowing that Alan is indeed in a place where he can watch over all those things so dear to him. Rest in peace my friend.

I am Alan's Cousin, older by several years. I knew brothers David and Larry much better. I love and respect Alan's parents, Warren and Helen, and feel very badly for their loss. Not knowing his immediate family, I can only convey deep regrets and shared sadness. My prayer is that you are each able to comfort one another through Love.
