Obituary of Joan Patricia Chagoya

Joan Patricia Chagoya of Colorado Springs was placed in the Lord's hands on December 16, 2013. Joan is survived by, her companion, Lisa Quintania; daughter, Brianna Aguilar; son, Isaiah Arellano; mother, Eleanor Garcia; stepfather, Victor Castaneda, and brother, Nick Alvarado. Joan was born on December 31, 1975, and was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs. Joan graduated from Harrison High School in 1994. She worked for Harrison School District 2 for over fifteen years, where she was dedicated to serving the students she worked with. While with the school district, Joan received several promotions, which was a credit to her hard work and devotion. Joan loved to spend time with family, friends, and enjoyed supporting her children in all of their extracurricular activities¬¬—she never missed a game. She also treasured the outdoors; camping and taking long drives in the mountains were high on her list of "must do's" every summer break. Joan was a generous person who would readily help anyone in need. She was an outgoing free spirit who loved to sing and dance to old school jams. Joan's infectious smile, loving personality, and quick wit made her a very charismatic person, which always made her the life of any party. Joan has touched so many lives in 37 years on earth. She was only with us for a short time, but loved by many and deeply missed by all that knew her.
