Obituary of Dana Robert Delahoy
Dana Robert Delahoy, 62, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2014 at the Denver VA Hospital. He was born April 29, 1951 in Jamestown, New York to Charles and May (Hadley) Delahoy. Dana graduated from Chautauqua High School in Chautauqua, New York and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and Germany as a heavy equipment operator. He lived in New Orleans, Louisiana for twenty-nine years before retiring to live with family in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2002. He spent many years working as a port engineer all over the world, including Alaska, South America, and England. Dana had an entertaining wit, enjoyed trivia, having a drink, and shooting pool with his many friends. He was a good man with a big heart who will be deeply missed and loved by all of his family and friends. Dana was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and May (Hadley) Delahoy. He is survived by his brothers, David (Jerri) Delahoy and Dennis (Annette) Delahoy; twin sister, Diana Bayette; sisters, Jean (Don) Roth and Janice (Brian) Franklin; as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and countless friends.A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, March 1, 2014, at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909, followed by a Celebration of Life at Willies South, 1865 North Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.Memorial Contributions in Dana's name may be made to Friends of the Colorado Springs Senior Center, 1514 North Hancock, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903 or Panama United Methodist Church, P.O.
