Obituary of Doyle Jean Sloan

Doyle Jean Sloan, 78, died on April 20, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Doyle was born on January 1, 1936 to Clarence and Lydia Sloan in Richwood, Missouri. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a member of The Retired Enlisted Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and TOPS. He enjoyed fishing, cribbage, bowling, and ceramics. He was also an avid traveler. Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Louis, Leo, and Clay; sister, Georgia; and son, Bud Yates. He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Marie Porter Sloan; children, Carolyn (Dave) Cummings, Snake (Jackie) Yates, Donna Kay (Tim) Smith, Daniel (Sherry) Yates, Chris (Mary) Sloan, Jimmy (Tammy) Sloan, Lori (Ken) Taylor, and Brinda Yates Chittenden; twenty grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.Visitation, 12:00PM – 2:00PM, Sunday, April 27, 2014, at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue.
