Obituary of Anna Jean Oswald

Anna Jean (Grindell) Oswald went to be with her Savior on April 26, 2014, surrounded by the love of her family. Anna Jean was born in Platteville, Wisconsin to Anna and John Grindell. After marrying Lawrence Oswald, she had a beautiful daughter, Andrea. She traveled extensively and lived in many places until settling down in Colorado.Anna Jean was a graduate of Chapman College, receiving her Master's degree in Family, Marriage, and Child Counseling and served as a social worker, helping others. Her family and friends knew her as a loving and generous mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose deep and abiding faith in Jesus sustained her through many difficult years. She always tried to live by Jesus' words and to be kind to others. She always had a smile to give to anyone and often prayed with the lonely or distressed. She was a bright and joyful spirit who loved singing, cooking, animals, and the beautiful outdoors. A talented artist, Anna Jean often painted and left her family with a wonderful legacy of uplifting art to enjoy. She will be missed so much, but her loving spirit will be with us always. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Dawn (Mike) Howell; granddaughter, Ciara Ceresse Howell; grandson, Michael A. (Jessica) Rice; sisters, Cindy Grindell, Terri (Randy) Thomas, and Kathy (Steve) Sible; former husband, Lawrence E. Oswald; and many nieces and nephews.
