Frederic John Swatek , 75, was born in Duquette, Minnesota on December 4, 1938 to Rudolph and Frances Swatek and died on April 27, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He grew up in Oliver, Wisconsin and was the only boy in a set of triplets, Fran, Fern and Fred.Fred left home in 1956 to join the U.S. Air Force where he was a radar/communications technician. While serving in the U. S. Air Force, Fred met Sherrill Kaye Keefover, and they were married on April 23, 1962. After serving eight years in the U.S. Air Force, Fred was honorably discharged while he was stationed at Peterson Air Field in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Fred and Sherrill decided to stay in Colorado where he started his own business. Fred's Mobile Home Service was based in Security, Colorado and thrived in the area for many years. He served as the Adjutant from 1994 to 1995. He was the American Legion post 38 historian from 1997 to 1998. Fred enjoyed helping people, he could often be found covered in grease underneath a friend's car, or setting up equipment for the band "Jammers". He also enjoyed sitting with friends, discussing the state of the world. Anytime Fred disappeared, he would always be found at the Qwik Inn, his "home away from home".Fred is survived by his wife Sherrill, his sons, Bruce, Gary, Richard, and Frederick Junior (Sandra Kiger), six grandchildren, Diana (Swatek) Crook, Meaghan Swatek, Ashley (Swatek) Fee, Kylie Swatek, Steven Swatek, and Larissa Swatek and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Crook, and Christopher Crook.Fred will be sorely missed by all of his family and friends.
