Obituary of Jack Finley Connelly Sr.
Jack Finley Connelly was born on August 10, 1925 to Roy and Agnes (Kent) Connelly in White Cloud, Kansas and died on May 28, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bobby, and Wilmer; and sister, Alleene.Jack graduated from Lamar Union High School in 1943. He joined the United States Navy during World War II and was an announcer and Chief Engineer for KLMR AM Radio in Lamar, Colorado.Jack was a Colorado Springs resident since 1961. He was Assistant Chief Engineer at KRDO AM/FM/TV 13 and part of the first time television broadcast to emanate from Pikes Peak summit as well as a Precinct Committeeman in El Paso County from 1968 to 1972. He also worked with Light Communications. Inc. and later as a member of the board of directors for KXRM, Inc. Jack also worked for Incorporated Beta Broadcasting, Inc, which built KJCS-LP, UHF Channel 38 and rebroadcasted Daystar Television Network since 1998. He was a member of the Full Gospel Businessman Association. He was born again in 1979.Jack is survived by his wife, Zoe; four children, Zoe Lynn Whitney, Jack F. Connelly, Jr., Diane Rice, and Kathleen Burr, and their spouses; twelve grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
